EnerCheck®

What it does:
Measures and reports efficiency changes, on an individual basis or for a large group of consumers.

Who can use it:
Utilities engaged in active conservation, efficiency, and Demand Side Management programs.

Description:
EnerCheck® is WeatherWise’s patented process using comparative analysis to remove the effects changing weather has on usage to generate precise calculations of energy consumption. These evaluations are performed on an individual consumer level, yielding the most comprehensive results.

  • Energy Efficiency Monitoring: Using the energy consumption models, WeatherWise can analyze the entire customer base or a subset comparing efficiency from year to year. The reports are available at an individual consumer level and can be presented to customers as a component of an overall conservation education campaign. These results can also be aggregated for reporting by customer type or rate class.
  • WeatherWise can manage the communication of the results to individual customers by mail, email or web , including a variety of charts and graphs to illustrate these findings. Changes in energy efficiency can be presented by units (therms, mcfs, kWhs etc.), dollars, or percentage or in changes to the individual customer’s carbon footprint (usually measured in pounds) and other greenhouse gasses. For electricity providers, WeatherWise will also take into account the provider’s generation mix conversion (annually, monthly, daily) for the applicable time periods.

WeatherWise can host custom web sites with the provider’s web site look and feel as well as emailing to your consumers on the provider’s behalf.

  • From the utility perspective, this reporting is useful in assessing the success of DSM efforts with individual consumers. On that level, it allows customers the opportunity to view the effects of weatherization, appliance upgrades or other energy efficiency efforts on their usage in their home or business.
  • EnerCheck® can be used to determine targets for weatherization and meter replacement, and to potentially identify unsafe conditions.
  • Record keeping and regulatory reporting capabilities exist to provide the required documentation of utility efforts and results.
